Brian Smith

Brian lends his talent to the character Rob in Anoraks. Previously, Brian spent two years touring the length and breadth of Wales in T.I.E (Theatre in Education), enlightening young minds and having chairs thrown at him by dysfunctional children.

No stranger to voice work, Brian and his dulcet tones could be heard advertising everything from sanitary products to porridge; Brian of course, only agreed to voice these adverts because he passionately believed in the products.

Brian has worked with a wide selection of theatre companies including: Black Rat, Go Theatre, Rogues, On in 5 Productions and Everyman.

His theatre credits are many and include: Loot (Truscott), Much Ado about Nothing (Benedick), Winter Gift (Pabst), Peer Gynt (Peer Gynt), Measure for Measure (Vincentio),  Peter Pan (Hook), Blue Remembered Hills (John), The Hypochondriac (Beralde), Good (Maurice), Confusions (various), Vanity Fair (Dobbin), Present Laughter (Essendine), The Madness of George the Third (Regent), and the acerbic and brilliant BlackAdder II, playing none other than the titual role of Edmund Blackadder himself.

While theatre may be his passion, Brian has also appearanced on television in both Sleeping Dogs and Casualty. And yet Brian is the only 'Anorak' of the three to NOT have appeared in Doctor Who, but he fervently believes this is only proof that the production is saving him for the top job once "what's her name" leaves.

Below are two reviews of Brian's appearance in Blackadder II, and a video of the rehearsal (by Buzz Magazine) just to prove that Brian does do things other than Anoraks:
