Actor

Abbie Hirst

Abbie played the long-suffering character of Rachel in Anoraks Series One. Abbie first cut her acting teeth as a young teenager with the Scottish Youth Theatre in her native Glasgow, playing Madeleine in Charles Dickens' Nicholas Nickleby.  She followed this with a summer season in London with the National Youth Theatre, before taking a break from acting to obtain a double Masters Degree in Business and Spanish from the University of St Andrews. Abbie speaks Spanish, French and English.

After time spent living and working in Northern Spain, Mexico, Western Samoa and London, Abbie finally had the funds behind her to study the Two Year Actor Training course at The Poor School in London's Kings Cross, where her studies were purely stage-oriented. Her first job upon graduation however, was a small role with the BBC and she has since expanded into TV, Film and Voice Over.
